2025 Week 1 Defensive Player of the Week - #99 Preston Wright (Southern Tier Stallions)

Earning the NFA Week 1 Defensive Player of the Week honor is Southern Tier Stallions Defensive Lineman #99 Preston Wright.  Wright and the Stallions traveled to the defending Champions, Lockport Wildcats, for a tough Week 1 battle. In a highly anticipated rematch of the 2024 NFA Championship Game, the Stallions, led by Wright, showed tremendous grit.  The game was a one score difference through the final whistle. The tone was set early by Wright and his Defense.  In a pivotal moment of the game Wright forced a fumble from Wildcats QB #1 Willie Fair resulting in a scoop and score for Stallions #9 Kareen Leaver.  Wright finished the game with 5 tackles, including 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and a forced fumble.
